Silicon Valley Arts Council

Formed to preserve the culture and aesthetics of Silicon Valley, the arts council of SV is an association that runs with a motive and a moral compass.

The aim of Silicon Valley arts council is simple- they are a group of leaders who have come together to preserve the arts and creative culture of Silicon Valley. They are not spectators, rather promoters, incubators and investors in the creative field.

It is usual for the creative culture to be ignored, although it is highly cherished. There must be a team to keep the essence alive and growing, and that’s exactly what the council does. From building the capacity, to increasing the visibility, to reaching far places with the essence of art.

Why put so much into Art?

At Silicon Valley Art Council, art and culture is not just about it being a tangible element. It is not just a piece of painting or a souvenir from the past, rather it is more soulful. Here culture and creativity is all about forming and maintaining connections. It is about connecting with the humanity and differences, not merely of the present, but the past too.

There is no other way for heritage and culture to be preserved in its authentic form than by orchestrating and revisiting it. A lot of times, culture is connected to the past ignoring the fact that it is as much a part of us today as it was. In the art council, they focus on intermingling 21rst century skills and innovation to appreciate various cultures and understand cross-cultural practices.

What do SV Art Council do?

The main job of the council is to support the art and culture community. This is done through various measures. They involve in investing in art, making it accessible and visible.

Training teachers in Arts Education through ArtsEdConnect

Providing opportunities to teens/students by creating digital media spaces via �The Studio’.

Taking initiatives to promote art and also to have access to arts through Vitality Arts, School of Arts and Culture at MPH, and Artsoplis.

Publishing a content magazine under the council has helped thousands learn about creative cultures.

They host SVARTS event where the art works are showcased.

Building major network through content pick up parties

Proving funding, workshops and local grants

Involving in research related to arts and civic

genARTS is a program created to motivate the next generation that works with youth.

SV Art council also partners with San Jose.org to cure cultural events.

Also sets an outstanding mark by leading the Center for Cultural Arts
